10 Random Facts About Beth Gardner

 

1. What’s your role at Oprema?

I’m the Marketing Assistant at Oprema. Every day looks a bit different for me, which I love as it keeps things exciting! A big part of my role involves managing the social media accounts, creating new content, and writing copy for various projects. Chances are, if you see one of our social media posts, website articles, or monthly newsletters, it’s me that has written it! 😊

2. Describe your first ever job?

My first proper job was as a barista and waitress at a garden centre restaurant when I was in sixth form. It was an awful job to be fair but I have so many funny memories and made lots of good mates there, plus I always took advantage of the free coffee!

3. What are your hobbies?

I have always been a massive reader and I used to write too, which is something I’ve recently taken back up. If I wasn’t in marketing, I’d love to have been a screenwriter for TV. I have loads of ideas and characters that I’m trying to make real in my spare time.

4. What’s your dream holiday destination?

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a massive Christmas fan – you’ve got to go big or go home. My dream is to one day take a trip to New York and live out my full Elf fantasy.

5. What’s your guilty pleasure?

I don’t really believe in guilty pleasures, probably because I would have too many of them otherwise. I’ve always been a massive theatre kid at heart and I’ll never turn down a chance to go to a musical.

6. What skill would you most like to learn?

I used to play violin, trumpet, and guitar, so it would be great to try my hand at a new instrument. Piano is one I’ve always wanted to get good at.

7. You can only listen to 3 albums again for the rest of your life – what are they?

The first choice is easy: Plastic Beach by Gorillaz, my all-time favourite album. Then I’d probably have to pick A Brief Enquiry into Online Relationships by The 1975 and The Queen is Dead by The Smiths. Honourable mentions also have to go to Get to Heaven by Everything Everything and Tusk by Fleetwood Mac.

8. What’s your favourite recent memory?

I went to a Harlequins game at Twickenham last year and got to see some of my favourite rugby players in the flesh, which was a great experience.

9. What was the best concert you’ve ever been to?

I finally saw Gorillaz in 2017 and it felt like a life event. That was my favourite, no question. Recently I went to Principality for Harry Styles and he was awesome as well.

10. What are you the most proud of in your life?

100% my little boy. He’s the happiest, funniest, most inquisitive little person in the world.
