Description

Proximity metal reader – Satin chrome

About – The Proximity metal reader is for use with Switch2 and Net2 systems. It is contained in a cast metal housing with a satin chrome finish. The result is a smart, rugged reader. As the reader is already housed in metal, its operation is affected less by fitting within close proximity to other metal objects. This makes it suitable for installation onto metal door frames, car park reader posts etc.

We have added Genuine HID Technology to the majority of our Paxton readers – they can now read HID 125kHz Proximity tokens, when licensed with an activation card. If required these readers can still be enabled to have Wiegand output, via a separate activation card.

Installation – The reader is wired as shown on the control unit label. A backplate is provided which facilitates accurate mounting. Security screws are provided to mount the reader to the backplate.

Operation – A token is read by holding it within close proximity to the reader. Once a token has been read the control unit looks up the access permissions of that user. Access is then granted or denied as appropriate. If access is granted the green LED flashes, if access is denied the red LED flashes.
